"FALL FOLIAGE LIBERTY TOUR"

October 16-21, 2008

Host:  Paul Warner

Day One-Oct. 16:  Meet your hosts Paul and Karen Warner at the SLC airport where we board a morning flight* to Manchester, NH.  Upon arrival we will board our bus and travel through the beautiful fall colors to Lebanon, NH where we will stay at the Fireside Inn.  On the short trip we will discuss the wonderful sites we will see during our trip.

Day Two-Oct. 17:  After breakfast we will take the bus to Sharon, VT where we will visit the Joseph Smith birthplace, memorial, and visitor’s center.  Early Smith history will be reviewed by the visitor center directors.  In the afternoon we will drive south through the colorful countryside to Western Massachusetts.  We will enjoy quaint Berkshire towns along the way and stay the night at a hotel near Great Barrington, MA.

Day Three-Oct. 18:  The morning will begin at the Norman Rockwell home and museum in Stockbridge, where he spent the last 25 years of his life.  The art work and life of Rockwell is a thrilling review of all things Americana.  He died in 1978 at the age of 84.  We will then travel to Boston to review the beginnings of the Revolutionary War by visiting Lexington and Concord.  We will stand beside the famous Minuteman Statue to hear stories of the “shot heard round the world.”  We will stay for the next 3 nights at the Doubletree Inn in Bedford.

Day Four-Oct. 19:  We will begin the day with a short Church Service and then travel to Quincy to tour the John Adam National Park.  We will visit the homes where John and Abigail Adams lived and sacrificed for the freedoms we now enjoy.  We will conclude the day by boarding the Mayflower II, touring Plymouth Plantation, and then being treated to an original Thanksgiving Meal.

Day Five-Oct. 20:  The day will be spent in downtown Boston beginning with a famous "Duck Tour" of the area.  For the rest of the day we will travel the Freedom Trail and learn of all the historical happenings that took place in a small part of Boston.  We will also have time to try the food at Quincy Market and ponder in Faneuil Hall.

Day Six-Oct 21:  We board the bus for our final day and head North and East for Salem—the home of the House of Seven Gables, Witch Trials, and a place where Joseph Smith visited in 1836.  We will then travel north, with our many new friends and great memories, to Manchester Airport for our return flights home.
