Milestones of Freedom: Many Nations, One America
For the third straight year Scera Park in Orem will be transformed into Ellis Island where you can take your family on a journey back in time through a series of inspirational and educational events. Participants have a chance to “walk in the shoes of an American immigrant” and rededicate their citizenship as they are guided through an orientation, citizenship test, ten milestones of freedom and the Oath of Citizenship. Food and souvenir booths on site.
Event Chair Scott Swain says participants will have an emotional experience surpassing anything they have every seen! “Nowhere else can you see real immigrants take the Oath of Citizenship and then do it yourself! Nothing compares with it!”
In addition, this year the field is adding a whole new simulated experience called, “I Declare Independence!” Participants are Continental Delegates with the quest to become FOUNDING PATRIOTS. Most people do not see themselves as active participants in the fight for liberty in America and have never thought of themselves as such. However, in order to preserve our liberty from one generation to another we must all become FOUNDING PATRIOTS to throw down tyranny and espouse principles of freedom. This event provides an opportunity for participants to become Delegates to the Second Continental Congress on a quest to become FOUNDING PATRIOTS. It is an opportunity to “re-declare” our independence in the free land of America!
This is a family event where you can meander through the experience while teaching your children what it means to be an American! Don’t miss it!
Participants can purchase an optional immigration package for $3.

Boy Scout Involvement
In celebration of 100 Years of Scouting, local Scouts will be helping throughout this exciting event. Setup and Takedown will require putting field of flags up/down and helping with other tasks. Older Scouts (age 16+) are needed to help man the on-site booths. Scouting units are needed to take security shifts during times when the event is closed (overnight, Sunday). Register to participate at www.utahscouts.org/freedomfestival.
