Milestones of Freedom at Ellis Island

Make this Independence Day celebration unforgettable with 47 minutes of drama as we hear “The Cries of Freedom” through history.

For the second year SCERA Park will be transformed into Ellis Island where you can take your family on a journey back in time through a series of inspirational and educational events. Participants have a chance to “walk in the shoes of an American immigrant” and re-dedicate their citizenship as they are guided through an orientation, citizenship test, ten milestones of freedom, and the Oath of Citizenship. Food and souvenir booths on site.

Event chair Scott Swain says participants will have an educational and emotional experience different from anything they have ever seen. “Nowhere else are participants given the chance to rededicate themselves as ‘True Amercians’. Nothing compares with it.”

Milestones of Freedom and “The Cries of Freedom” stage show is free to attend. Participants can purchase an optional immigration package for $3.
