JUNIOR GOLF CLASSIC
Monday morning June 27, junior golfers will converge on Cascade Golf Center in Orem for the 14th annual Junior Golf Classic. The tournament features boys and girls of all ages competing in two divisions.
Division One: Includes four flights for boys ages 14, 15, 16, and 17; and two flights for girls ages 14 & 15 and 16 & 17. Competitors will play 9 holes on the Valley course. Check-in is at 11:30am. The shotgun start is at 1:00 pm. There is a $10 entry fee. Division One golfers will have lunch and the putting contest before play.
Division Two: Includes five flights for boys ages 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13; and two flights for girls ages 10 & 11 and 12 & 13. Competitors will play 9 holes on the Valley course. Check in is at 9 a.m. The shotgun start is at 10 a.m. There is a $10 entry fee. Division Two golfers will have lunch and the putting contest after play. Scorekeepers are needed for these younger golfers.
Other events include a lunch at 12:00 p.m. for all players as well as a putting tournament. Awards will be given to the winners in each age group as well as contests and prizes for other participants.
Participation is first-come-first-serve and is open to 60 golfers in each division.
FAMILY MINITURE GOLF & BARBECUE
On Monday evening, June 27, families are invited to play 18 to 36 holes of miniature golf and enjoy a hamburger barbecue. The cost is $35 for a family of up to six members. Prorated fees are available for larger and smaller families. Advanced reservations are required.
NITE GOLF AND DINNER
The final event of the Golf Extravaganza is a Nite-Lite golf outing and dinner held on Wednesday June 29 and Thursday June 30. This event is a four-person scramble. Nine holes of golf are played in the daylight on the mountain nine. After a steak dinner, participants play another 9 holes of golf in the dark on the valley nine using glow-in-the-dark golf balls. Cost is $50 per person and includes 18 holes, riding cart for the mountain 9 during the day, steak dinner, and Nite-Lite golf supplies. Reservations are required.
