Baby Contest

The Freedom Festival Baby Contest creates a positive experience for children ages newborn to 30 months.  This heartwarming event is a fun way for parents to share their child’s unique personality and beauty with the community and walk away with some really great gifts!

Date: June 19, 2010

Place: Utah Valley University Sorensen Student Center

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Cost: $10.00 online registration.  $15.00 online registration starting June 11, 2010. Online registration closes at 3:00 pm June 18, 2010.  $15.00 Day Of registration at UVU Campus Connection.

Exciting New Updates to the 2010 Baby Contest:

Announcing TWO Award Celebrations!

The first Award Celebration will be for all categories from 0-12 months at 12:15 p.m. in the UVU Sorensen Center Grande Ballroom.  The second Award Celebration will be for all categories from 13-30 months at 3:00 p.m. in the UVU Sorensen Center Grande Ballroom.

Judging: UVU Sorensen Student Center Food Court

Babies will only be judged at their respective age-group times.  Once the age-group time closes, there will be no more judging for that age group.  If an entrant is in line at the close time, they will be able to be judged.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

0-3 months
4-6 months

DAY OF REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE AT 10:00 a.m.

10:30-11:45 a.m.

7-9 months
10-12 months

1:15-2:30 p.m.
13-16 months

Awards Celebrations:

12:15 p.m.:            0-12 months –  all categories

Winners Awards

Winners receive a medal, a winner t-shirt, gifts from Mary Kay Cosmetics, books, $25 gift certificate from Tiny Touches, and much more.

Door Prize Give Aways at Award Celebrations:

In the registration packet, each parent will be given two raffle type tickets.  When arriving at the Award Celebration, place your raffle ticket into one of the boxes at the door of the Grande Ballroom prior to your Award Celebration.  All boxes will be combined into one for the door prize give away at each of the Award Celebrations.  Only those tickets in the official door prize boxes will be eligible for door prizes.   The Grande Prize drawing at each Award Celebration will be two tickets to the Stadium of Fire on Saturday, July 3rd.

Door Prize Distribution:

The door prizes will not be brought to the winners – the prizes will be taken to a door prize table with the number attached.  The winners will pick up their prize at the table with their number that matches the prize.

Vendors:  UVU  Sorensen Center Commons Area

There will be 36 vendors present ranging from Tiny Touches hand and foot imprints to community resource organizations available to parents.  We will also have a community resource area and a play room for children.

Baby Photo Portraits:

UVU Sorensen Student Center  SC-206 ABC

Cherished Moments Photography and Pro Digital Photos are teaming up this year to offer a portrait sitting at the Baby Contest.  This will give you the opportunity to cherish the moments of the day for a life time.  The photographer will be in the UVU Centre Stage and you photo can be taken before or after the babies judging.  The cost of the photo is $10.00 and can be pre-paid through the on-line registration or pay on June 19, 2010.    The photo will be available for either pick-up or mailing on June 26, 2010.  More information the day of the event.  To get to know the photographer and the developing lab, check out their links at Cherished Moments Photography and Pro Digital Photos.

Activity Room:  UVU Sorensen Student Center  Centre Stage Sponsored by  Partners for Infants and Children

Baby friendly fun activities for little ones and parents to have an opportunity to play together presented by Partners for Infants and Children of Utah County.   Parenting and agency resources will also be available.

Baby Contest Winners in Grand Parade and Children’s Parade:

All Winners will have the opportunity to participate in the Grand Parade on Saturday, July 3th and the Children’s Parade on Saturday, June 26th.
