31-42 MonthsAge Category: The Freedom Festival Baby Contest is pleased to continue the new age group, 31-42 months. We are excited to be able to include the older babies in this year’s contest for a second year. The judging for 31-42 months will be 1:15-2:30 pm with the Awards Celebration starting at 3:00 p.m.
Family Discounts: The Baby Contest announcing a multiple children discount – two children entered into the contest will be $15.00, three children will be $25.00. That is a $5.00 discount per family. The discount will only apply to on-line registration.
Children’s Movie Room – SC-206 C: The Baby Contest is excited, back by popular demand, Children’s Movie Entertainment Room. The movies will be shown through-out the Baby Contest. We will have a variety of feature length films including: How to Train Your Dragon, Up, Sleeping Beauty, The Princess and the Frog, and many more. Popcorn will be available at the movies!

The Freedom Festival Baby Contest creates a positive experience for children ages newborn to 42 months. This heartwarming event is a fun way for parents to share their child’s unique personality and beauty with the community and walk away with some really great gifts!

Place: Utah Valley University Sorensen Student Center

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Cost: As of June 14, late registration for two children entered into the contest is $25.00, three children is $35.00. That is a $5.00 discount per family. The discount will only apply to on-line registration. Remember the fees are per category, if you register your baby for the Age Category and the Costume category you will pay $20 for one child, $30 for two, and $50 for three children. Online registration closes at 3:00 pm June 18, 2011. $15.00 Day Of registration at UVU Campus Connection.

Exciting New Updates to the 2011 Baby Contest:

Announcing TWO Award Celebrations!

The first Award Celebration will be for all categories from 0-12 months at 12:15 p.m. in the UVU Sorensen Center Grande Ballroom. The second Award Celebration will be for all categories from 13-42 months at 3:00 p.m. in the UVU Sorensen Center Grande Ballroom.

Judging: UVU Sorensen Student Center Food Court

Babies will only be judged at their respective age-group times. Once the age-group time closes, there will be no more judging for that age group. If an entrant is in line at the close time, they will be able to be judged. NO EXCEPTIONS.

The judging system we use is a numeric system that gives a numeric value in four categories: Babies Physical Features, Babies Personalities and Behavior, Babies Unique Talents/Cute Traits, and Babies Reaction to Judges. There are, in most cases, two judges that judge independently with both scores added together to make the total score. Costumes are judged by the same categories and how the costume fits a patriotic theme.

Age: Please feel free to dress your baby in an outfit that brings out their personality or an outfit that might best describes Family, Freedom, God, Country. These are our most cherished and celebrated values.

Costume: The costume category is a unique statement of Family, Freedom, God , Country which shows your patriotism in a creative way. Such as, Lady Liberty, Martha Washington, George Washington, military uniform, the Liberty Bell, Captain America, mom’s apple pie, the possibilities are abundant.

Winners Awards

Winners receive a medal, a winner t-shirt, gifts from Mary Kay Cosmetics, books, $25 gift certificate from Tiny Touches, and much more.

Door Prize Give Aways at Award Celebrations:

At the judges table, each parent will be given two raffle type tickets. When arriving at the Award Celebration, place your raffle ticket into one of the boxes at the door of the Grande Ballroom prior to your Award Celebration. All boxes will be combined into one for the door prize give away at each of the Award Celebrations. Only those tickets in the official door prize boxes will be eligible for door prizes. The Grande Prize drawing at each Award Celebration will be two tickets to the Stadium of Fire on Saturday, July 3^rd.

Door Prize Distribution:

The door prizes will not be brought to the winners – the prizes will be taken to a door prize table with the number attached. The winners will pick up their prize at the table with their number that matches the prize.

Vendors: UVU Sorensen Center Commons Area

There will be 36 vendors present ranging from Tiny Touches hand and foot imprints to community resource organizations available to parents. We will also have a community resource area and a play room for children.

Baby Photo Portraits:

Misty Mathews Photography is very excited to be involved with the America’s Freedom Festival this year. Having participated in the baby contest with our own children we know what a keepsake this photo will be. If you have pre-registered for a photograph we will have everything we need to help you when you arrive. All you need to bring is a photo ID and your beautiful baby. If you have not to pre-registered, our staff will be on hand to assist you on the day of the contest. While you are there, Misty will take approximately 5-10 pictures of your baby. You will be given a CD with every picture taken of your child. We will also provide a copyright release so that you may print as many copies of these professional quality pictures as you like. The digital format also makes it easy to share your photos with friends and family.

Baby friendly fun activities for little ones and parents to have an opportunity to play together presented by Partners for Infants and Children of Utah County. Parenting and agency resources will also be available.

Baby Contest Winners in Grand Parade and Children’s Parade:
