America
fell in love with McCreery in 2011 when he appeared on American Idol and immediately made a name for himself with his deep and undeniably country voice, strong sense of self, small town roots and unwavering integrity and conviction. In May, he won Season Ten of American Idol when a record breaking 122.4 million votes were cast for the finale and nearly 39 million people tuned in to see the winner’s name announced.
Scotty joins a long line of country stars at Stadium of Fire, including Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Brooks & Dunn, Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, Lee Ann Womack, Lonestar and Toby Keith. He joins Taylor Hicks, Carrie Underwood and David Archuleta as American Idol alumni who have performed at the show.
McCreery released his new album, Clear as Day, in October to national acclaim. The album sold 197,000 copies on its debut week, and McCreery made history as the first country act to debut at No. 1 on Billboard 200 with his or her first studio album, as well as the youngest man to open at the top of the chart with his debut release.
The album’s debut single, “I Love You This Big,” became a Top 15 hit and enjoyed the highest charting debut for a new artist since at least 1984, while the video for the song hit No. 1 in just a week after its release. The album was certified platinum in January, selling over one million copies.
This year’s show will also feature performances from winning finalists of the second annual Stadium of Fire Talent Search, an ongoing musical talent competition that will include an outdoor concert on Wednesday, June 13 at the SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre in Orem, Utah. Over 5,000 musicians have already submitted videos to compete
in the contest (up from about 400 entries this time last year). The top contestants will perform live at Stadium of Fire to compete for a cash prize of $10,000. In an exciting conclusion to the months-long contest, Stadium of Fire’s audience will choose the winner live in the stadium!

As cute as Scotty is, I paid to see the reunion concert of the Beach Boys. Please cut the opening acts enough to allow for an entire Beach Boys concert. I can’t believe that you advertise a Beach Boys concert and put in so much filler that the concert is cut in half.
