Stadium of Fire Talent Search begins Feb. 8, giving you a chance to perform live at July's show

Provo, Utah – February 7, 2011 – Tomorrow America’s Freedom Festival launches its Stadium of Fire Talent Search, an ambitious talent competition that will spotlight up to 40 aspiring contestants in both online and live auditions between February and July. Three winning finalists will perform live at Stadium of Fire on July 2 to compete for a grand prize.

“Every year the Freedom Festival receives multiple bids from talented individuals and groups that would like to perform in some way at Stadium of Fire,” said Carl Bacon, senior executive producer of this year’s show. “This competition is a new way to include many of these up-and-coming performers in our

flagship event and allow them to be featured on the same stage as huge international headliners like those we've hosted in the past.”

Stadium of Fire Talent Search is divided in five phases. First, members of the public should submit a video of themselves performing a talent by registering online at freedomfestival.org. All videos must be submit

ted by March 15. The Freedom Festival will then choose the best 40 submissions to post online for a public vote in March. After the public vote, the top 25 performers will participate in a live audition in April where they will be evaluated by a panel of judges. The top 10 winners will advance to perform in a live, public concert in May, where they will again be judged by a panel of experts.

The top three contestants will perform live at Stadium of Fire on July 2, where a winner will be chosen by an audience of approximately 50,000 spectators. The winner will be awarded a generous cash prize.

“The Freedom Festival is opening up Stadium of Fire Talent Search to anyone in Utah and beyond,” said Kendra Lowe, who is producing much of the event. “We want singers, musicians, dancers, artists, stunt performers and anyone with a fun, creative talent to submit their video for a chance to perform at this year’s big show.”

Registration to enter and participate in Stadium of Fire Talent Search is free. Potential contestants should visit freedomfestival.org for more details. Precise locations and dates for the two live concerts, as well as additional contest details, will be released at a future date.

    Hi,
I’m Trystin Crofts. Im from Tooele Utah and I am interested in auditioning to perform at the Stadium of Fire. My question for you is, do we need to be a certain age in order to participate? If so, how old? I am thirteen years old and I would like for my frind (who is twelve)and I to enter with a dance.
Can’t wait to hear back from you.
    Sincerely, Trystin Crofts.
    THANKS!!!

Trystin, there are no age restrictions for the Talent Search. We look forward to seeing your submission!

    Hi,

Im wondering about the auditions and if you sing the same song for each audition or if we should choose different songs for each audition? Does the song have to be patriotic? :)

    Thanks Bobbi

I am looking forward to showing my talents! I was wondering if the tape that I submit needs to be a polished copy of my act…or is it a way to have people see what I can do and vote for me. I have a unusual act of balancing different items on my chin with some showmanship and music. What do you suggest. I have a few clips but not sure what to submit?

  6. chad says:

Bobbi, you don’t have to choose a different song for each audition, and your song does not have to be patriotic.

Jason, the purpose of the first round is to show off your talent. The judges understand the difference between a live video and a recorded video. The judges would prefer to see a live sample of your talent, but if all you have is a recorded sample then submit that. I would upload all of your clips to the same YouTube account so the judges can look at everything you’ve done.

    Good Luck!

    Hi,
My name is Kim Hansen. My daughter, Ashlyn Hinckley is a great singer. She has sung at a Voice Recital for her voice lessons and I have a couple of songs she has sung onto CDs for her voice lessons. I recorded her singing at the above mentioned voice recital, but don’t have anyway of putting it on a DVD. Can I just send a copy of her CDs? However, she does have a video that her and her friend did preparing for a school talent show that is on her facebook page, in her videos. You might be able to look at that. She is the girl on your right as you are looking at the video. Please write me back at the above mentioned email address or you can call me at 801-645-3935 anytime after 2pm and let me know if you were able to see it, or to let me know if I can just send in the CDs.
    Thanks,
    Kim Hansen

I’m sorry, I just looked on my daughter’s facebook page and that video is no longer there. So please just tell me where to send those CDs and if I have enough time because I just realized the auditions are due in 2 days and I don’t know if I have time.

You’ll need to upload the video to YouTube. It’s not too difficult. If you need help you are welcome to call the Freedom Festival offices. Good Luck!

I think you are making a big mistake opening up the contest to beyond Utah! This is an opportunity for local talent to take the stage and get some recognition and publicity. Why would we import someone from New York or Delaware or something, bring them here and give them the opportunity when we have so many talented people here who are waiting for a break! Please change the rules! It makes no sense! By the way, I’m not a contestant, but someone who knows how much talent we’ve got right here in the state!
